Today is World Mission Sunday. Pope Francis is asking you and every Catholic worldwide to come together in celebration of World Mission Sunday. On this very special day every Church, in every parish across our globe will give what they can, no matter how little, towards the World Mission Sunday collection.

Your contribution will be used to help spread faith, hope and love by supporting overseas missionaries, many of whom work in some of the world’s most impoverished and remote communities.

Mission Month and Mission Sunday is a time for you to fully appreciate the dedication of these missionaries who are there before, during and after any crisis

November is traditionally dedicated as the Month of the Holy Souls when we pray in a special way for family members/relatives/ friends who are no longer with us.

The sheets and envelopes for the List of the Dead are available at the back of the church.

We ask you to fill them in and return them to the box at the back of the church before early November. All those on the parish list of the dead are prayed for at all Masses in November and on the first Friday of every month.

                                                       Safeguarding Children

Message from Eileen Doherty and Gerardine Rogers (Parish Safeguarding Representatives)

Our parish values and encourages the participation of children and young people in our liturgies and activities. Safeguarding is about creating an environment that facilitates such involvement so that children can grow strong in their faith as they experience the love of Jesus in his Church. Everyone who ministers in the parish is a representative of the Church and must observe safeguarding practices and guidelines. Good safeguarding practice is integral to ministry - it is not an optional extra.

We work with Frs Gerry and Brendan to ensure that diocesan safeguarding policies and practices are followed. We are trained for this role and access advice and support from the Diocesan Child Safeguarding Committee.

Bishop Deenihan is deeply grateful to all the priests, parish staff and volunteers who help to make our parishes safe places for children.

During 2018, we implemented the three new pieces of legislation, namely the new rules on data protection (GDPR), Mandated Persons and the adoption of the Child Safety Statement.

We work with in the parish: Altar Servers; Children’s Choir and Youth Choir
