Prayer to the Holy Trinity

Eternal God, eternal Trinity,

You are a mystery as deep as the sea;

the more I search, the more I find,

and the more I find the more I search for You.

when you fill my soul I have an even greater hunger,

and I grow more famished for Your light.

I desire above all to see You,

the true light, as You really are.

Eternal Father, You have given me a share in your power

and the wisdom that Christ claims as his own,

and Your Holy Spirit has given me the desire to love you.

You have made me a new creation in the blood of Your Son,

and I know that You are moved with love

at the beauty of Your creation.

Eternal Trinity, Godhead, mystery as deep as the sea,

You could give me no greater gift than the gift of Yourself.

World Meeting of Families - Icon of the Holy Family visits the Diocese of Meath

This initiative encourages prayer and reflection as part of the journey toward WMOF2018.

Many families around Ireland have appreciated the opportunity to write their petitions for inclusion at the Papal Mass in the Phoenix Park. These petition sheets will be made available in mid-June for every parish to share with schools, nursing homes and families.

We hope to offer an opportunity for pilgrimage to the icon on the following days:

26 June - 28 June St Mary’s Church, Navan

29 June - 1 July Cathedral of Christ the King, Mullingar.

Registration for all WMOF2018 events is open via

Individual pilgrims and families can now register for the main three-day WMOF2018 Congress from August 22nd – 24th; for the Festival of Families on Saturday 25th August; and for the Closing Mass on Sunday, 26th August. Register on

It now looks likely that capacity for RDS section (August 22nd to 24th) will be reached before August. Don’t leave it until the last minute, book now to avoid disappointment.

Wednesday 22 August is the day of the Congress on which parishioners from around the diocese of Meath are invited to join with parishes throughout the provinces of Armagh and Dublin.

The programme will commence at 9:00am with Morning Prayer and will conclude with Mass in the RDS Arena at 4:00pm.

A chosen theme on each of these days will reflect “The Gospel of the Family: Joy for the World” and will include an enriching programme for adults of keynote speakers, workshops, talks, testimonies and discussions. The schedules for the ceremonies, exhibitions, cultural events and musical performances are available on

A free ticket for the Festival of Families and the Closing Mass is guaranteed for all who register for one of the days of the Pastoral Congress. All adults and children must be pre-registered (cost €38 per adult; under-18 free of charge).

Our diocesan website will carry weekly updates and bulletin inserts which we hope will enable parish office staff to publicise the upcoming events.

“For the light of the sun in the sky. For the light which shines through the window.

For the light that shines early in the morning. For the light that shines late in the evening.
