Christmas Mass Schedule:

Christmas Eve: 5:00 p.m. (Children’s Choir); 7:00 p.m. (Folk Group) & 9:00 p.m. (Parish Choir)

Christmas Day: 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. & 12:15 p.m.

Penitential Service: The annual Christmas Penitential Service (with visiting clergy) will take place on Sunday 20th December at 7:00 p.m. You are invited to take this opportunity to avail of the sacrament of reconciliation in preparation for Christmas. There will also be individual confessions available after the morning Mass on Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd December.

Pre-Signed Mass Cards: A number of local businesses sell pre-signed Mass Cards. It is proving difficult to confirm the authenticity of the signatories. In one instance a customer was assured that the masses were being offered in Trim. However, the signatory on the card does not live or minister in Trim. In many instances no priest bearing the name on the card can be traced. In other instances the signatory has left the ministry, is suspended from priestly ministry or has been dismissed from the clerical state. You are encouraged to be vigilant, to request the name of the priest and where the Mass will be offered. You are encouraged to ask only priests who are personally known to you to celebrate Masses for your intentions and for the souls of your loved ones.

Dunboyne Choir: & Redemptoris Mater Seminary, Armagh invite you to a Christmas Concert in Dunboyne Church on Tuesday 15thDecember at 8.00 pm.  Tea and coffee afterwards. All welcome!
Advent Vespers: with the Monks of Silverstream Priory, Stamullen at 4 pm on each Sunday of Advent. Vespers are sung in Latin to the ancient monastic tones (known to St Patrick and the Saints of Ireland). There will be a sermon each week and, in conclusion, Solemn Benediction.

Rathbeggan N.S: A meeting of the Board of Management will take place on Tuesday 15th at 8:30 p.m. in the Parish Pastoral Centre.

Priesthood in the Diocese of Meath: The “Navigatio Programme is a discernment programme for men considering a vocation to the priesthood in the Diocese of Meath. Meetings take place in St Mary's Church, Navan (entrance to St. Anne’s Chapel on Trimgate Street side of the Church) on the last Sunday of each month at 4pm. The theme of this programme is 'putting out into the deep', exploring the plan which God has for us in life. The meetings provide an opportunity to meet with students for the priesthood and hear their account of discerning a vocation and about seminary life, a presentation on priesthood or spirituality, a period of prayer together, concluding with refreshments and a bite to eat! For more information on Priesthood please contact Fr. Brendan or the Diocesan Vocations Directors: Fr. Joe 086-6035606 or Fr. Shane 057 9322244

Gaudete Sunday – Rejoice!
Today is Gaudete Sunday. The day takes its name from the Latin Gaudete meaning ‘Rejoice’. The first line of our Second Reading uses the word ‘happy’ twice and happiness once. This happiness Paul speaks of is not a passing mood, but a deeper happiness and contentment; a peace of heart. Do we take the time to cultivate this deeper sense of happiness? This is something we can think about as we prepare for Christmas. It is not the gifts and festivities that will bring us true and lasting happiness!
