Musings
The Rule of St. Benedict states that “all visitors who call are to be welcomed as if they were Christ... Let the greatest care be taken, especially in the reception of the poor, because Christ is received more specially in them” St. Benedict
“Every person matters; no human life is redundant. Every individual must be given the opportunity to live a life in which his or her basic needs are provided for and in which, so far as is reasonably possible, their full potential is realised” Cardinal Basil Hume
“So I don’t want any devil, seen or unseen, visiting fear on you....But if the devil should trouble you with all sorts of struggles and illusions or with fear of not being able to persevere in the works you’ve begun, take heart and say, “I will be able to do everything through Christ crucified, for he has overcome the devils for me” St. Catherine of Siena
“Man becomes smaller, not greater when there is no longer any room for a gaze turned towards God”
Pope Benedict
“To have faith in God is to surrender one’s self to God, humbly to put one’s interest, or to wish to be allowed to put them into his hands who is the Sovereign Giver of all good”
Blessed John Henry Newman
