“Faith is God’s precious gift, which opens our mind to know and love him. God loves us! Faith, however, needs to be accepted, it needs our personal response. It is a gift, not reserved for a few but offered with generosity. Everyone should be able to experience the joy of being loved by God, the joy of salvation! It is a gift that one cannot keep to oneself, but it is to be shared”                    Pope Francis

The new Vatican media in Pope Francis' time

“More than 9,300,000 followers and, thanks to retweets, at least 60,000 million people on their smartphones and tablets are reached by the Holy Father’s tweets”; as well as the “10,260,000 people every month who visit our pages in the various languages through the portal via Facebook”. These are Pope Francis’ record statistics on social networks of the first six months of his pontificate; a media success of which “few other global leaders can boast”, is the opinion of Archbishop Claudio Maria Celli, president of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications.

Tweets this week from Pope Francis:  TWITTER@PONTIFEX       20th September      Christ is always faithful. Let us pray to be always faithful to him.

19th September      We are all sinners, but we experience the joy of God’s forgiveness and   we walk forward trusting in his mercy

17th September      There are many people in need in today’s world. Am I self-absorbed in my own concerns or am I aware of those who need help?

15th September      Seeking happiness in material things is a sure way of being unhappy
