The 50th International Eucharistic Congress – Dublin

At its most basic a Eucharistic Congress is an international gathering of people which aims to promote an awareness of the central place of the Eucharist in the life and mission of the Catholic Church, to help improve our understanding and celebration of the liturgy and to draw attention to the social dimension of the Eucharist.

Thousands of pilgrims have registered from over 120 countries and thousands from around Ireland.

Here in Ratoath Parish, we warmly welcome the students for the priesthood from the Archdiocese of Westminster and the rector and staff members of Allen Hall Seminary, Chelsea who are the guest of the parish during the Eucharistic Congress. They will be with us from Wednesday 13th to Monday 18th and we are most grateful to our parishioners who are hosting them. On Thursday and Friday morning the seminarians and staff will pray Morning Prayer in the Parish Church at 10.15am before proceeding to the RDS. You are welcome to join them.

Anyone who wishes to attend any day of the Congress at the RDS can purchase a ticket on the day at the ticket desk in the RDS. We encourage parishioners to attend any day so as to experience this unique opportunity to witness to our faith and to share it with thousands from Ireland and abroad. Tuesday 12th June is the Meath Diocesan Day at the Congress. Details and full programme of the Eucharistic Congress events is available on

The Three Tenors will perform, alongside the Palestrina Choir, Our Lady of Victories Choir and the Maynooth Gospel Choir, at the opening ceremony in the RDS this Sunday.

The Priests, Fuaimlaoi, award winning soprano Celine Byrne, and world renowned composer Father Liam Lawton are among the acts that will feature alongside the RTÉ Concert Orchestra at the closing ceremony taking place at Croke Park on Sunday 17th June.

There will be no 12.15pm Mass next Sunday 17th June due to the closing
