Let us pray for all students undergoing examinations:

Lord, pour out your Spirit of Wisdom on these students:

Help them to remain calm at all times,

to attend carefully to the questions asked on the papers,

to think clearly, to remember accurately,

                   and to express themselves well.

Grant that they may reflect the best of the work they have done

and the best of the teaching they have received.

Accept their best efforts in these examinations

and in the great test of life.

Lord pour out your blessing upon the parents / guardians

and family of all these student.

May you also comfort them at this time of worry.

May your love be upon students and parents, O Lord,

As they place their trust in you.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

                                              New Missal

Is the Catholic Church in Ireland alone in introducing this new Missal?

The Catholic Church in Ireland, along with Churches throughout the English-speaking world, is working towards introducing the new edition of the Roman Missal at this time. This new edition is the English translation of the Latin Mass that was issued by Pope John Paul II in 2002.

Since 2002 the Church in its many languages has engaged in the work of translating this Latin text through study, reflection and consultation. This work in English- speaking countries is now complete. In Ireland, as in other English-speaking countries, the new Missal will come into effect during autumn 2011
