The sick and the housebound will be attended to in their homes on Thursday and Friday.
Eucharistic Adoration every Wednesday for 10.00am to 10.00pm in the family room of the church. All are welcome.
Ratoath GAA welcomes everyone to celebrate Lá na gClub, a family open day on Sunday 9th May. Club Mass at 11.00am in the Parish Church. Fun and Games start at 2pm in Sean Eiffe Park, Brownstown. Entertainment and BBQ all day.
Cemetery Sunday is on Sunday 30th May beginning with evening prayer at 5.00pm in the church, followed by rosary and blessing of the graves in the cemetery.
Rathbeggan National School – Golden Jubilee - 50 Years On
This year Rathbeggan National School celebrates its 50th year of existence. To celebrate this historic occasion a number of events will be held in the coming weeks.
A social evening will be held this Friday 7th May in Tattersalls – a reunion evening for past pupils. Some tickets are still available. If you are interested, please contact Maria at

Next Sunday the 12.15pm Mass will be a Mass of Thanksgiving for 50 years of Rathbeggan National School. Members of the Board of Management, the staff, pupils, parents and all past pupils are welcome to attend. The school choir will sing and members of staff and parents will participate in the readings, prayers of the faithful and special offertory procession.
President Mary McAleese will visit the school on Wednesday 12th May. Bishop Smith will attend along with other guests.

We welcome Brother Brian Johnson will speak at all the Masses this weekend. The Franciscan Brothers were founded in Galway in the early 1800’s. They were founded to work with the rural poor in Ireland and so all of their monasteries were located in rural areas. Their primary work involved Religious and Secular Education, and Agriculture. They are well remembered for their work during the Great Famine. Presently they have missions in Kenya and Uganda where they are involved in Aids Awareness, Secular and Religious Education, Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development, Food and Seed Distribution, Food Security, and Famine Relief.
A Tea Day in support of the Alzheimer’s Society will be held in Ratoath Manor Nursing Home on Thursday, 6 May, 2010 from 2.00pm to 5.00 p.m. Please come along and enjoy a cup of tea with staff and residents – all welcome.

The Irish College, Rome is running a new course specifically for lay people entitled “Return to the Source – rediscovering the meaning of our baptism”. It will take place from 18 to 24 July and will be facilitated by Fr Michael Drumm (Diocese of Elphin; Executive Chairperson of Catholic Schools Partnership). Lectures, liturgies and visits to significant sites in Rome will combine to deepen an appreciation of the sacraments and a rediscovery of the meaning of baptism.
