The Season of Lent, which begins on Wednesday, is an invitation to us to draw closer to Christ and to renew within us the life of faith. As the preface of the Mass says, “this great season of grace is your gift to your family to renew us in spirit”. We invite you to participate in our ceremonies for the opening 3 days of Lent.
Ash Wednesday
9.45am Mass with distribution of Ashes.
10.15am- 10.00pm Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
8.00pm Mass with distribution of Ashes.
9.45pm Night Prayer of the Church
Thursday after Ash Wednesday
9.45am Mass.
10.15am Lectio Divina, praying with the scriptures.
8.00pm- 9.00pm An evening of quiet prayer (with Taize reflection)
Friday after Ash Wednesday
9.45am Mass.
8.00pm Mass of Blessing & Healing
Since November 2001, we have held Eucharistic Adoration every Wednesday from 10.00am to 10.00pm in the church. This weekend we welcome Bernie McKeown who will speak at all the Masses on Eucharistic Adoration.
