The annual audit for Ratoath parish, in regard to safeguarding children, was completed this week by our parish safeguarding representatives and forwarded to the Diocesan Safeguarding Children’s Committee at Bishop’s House, Mullingar.

 

 

There will be a Board of Management Meeting in St Paul’s National School, on Ratoath on Tuesday 13th December at 7.00pm

 


Penitential Service for Christmas – in Ratoath Church this Sunday 18th December at 7.00pm with a number of priests in attendance. Also there will be a penitential service in Ashbourne on Monday 19th and in Dunboyne on Tuesday 20th December. Both ceremonies are at 8.00pm

 

 

Monday is the Feast of St Finian, Patron saint of the Diocese of Meath. St Finian Studied in Idron (Carlow) and later in Wales. On his return he settled in Clonard, Co Meath around 520, where he established a famous school. His pupils, among whom were Canice, Colum Cille and Brendan, were the initiators of the great monastic expansion in Ireland. He died in 549 and is remembered as tutor of the Saints of Ireland.

Submission to the Citizens’ Assembly on Article 40.3.3 of the Constitution. The Irish bishops have consulted carefully with members of the lay faithful, both women and men. The Irish Bishops’ Conference is currently finalising the text of its submission which will be published over the coming days.

Anam Cara, the organisation that supports bereaved parents, is holding its next monthly Parent Evening on Wednesday 21st December from 19:30 to 21:00 in B.A.S.E Brackenstown Road, Swords. This event is open to all bereaved parents regardless of the age your child died, the circumstances of their death, or whether the death was recent or not.
Children due to start school 2017 in Ratoath Junior National School. If you have a child, or you know of a child who is due to start school in Sept 2017 please send the ‘Notification for Enrolment Form’ as soon as possible. The Form is available from the school office or on the school website

 

 

Santa visits Ratoath GAA Club This Sunday 11thDecember 1pm -6pm. Free Admission. All donations will go to St. John’s Ward, Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. Goodies bags and photo with Santa for all children. Face painting, mulled wine and mince pies.
