Foster Care: Fostering is caring for and sharing your home and family life with children/young people who, for various reasons, are unable to live with their own families, for a short or long period of time. By becoming a foster carer you can provide a stable, secure and loving environment for children in a time of need and make a difference to their lives.  At all Masses next weekend, John Martin, Director

of Foster Care Services will say a few words about the service and hand out some literature to those who might be interested in following up on foster care.

“We have to let our young people know that their lives are worth living and that they were born for eternal life, not for glamour or guns or sensationalism. They need to be inspired, to have the life of Christ breathed back into them. It is up to us to set an example, not just by doctrinal teaching alone, but by the teaching of our whole lives”

(Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano)

“Thanks to baptism, each member of the Church is called to a life of holiness. Holiness is first and foremost God’s gift, not our own achievement. Christ loved the Church, St. Paul tells, and gave himself up for her, to make her holy. In the communion of the Church, each of us has been sanctified by the grace of baptism and is called to grow in this holiness. Whatever state of life, we are called to live our daily lives and to fulfil our various responsibilities in prayerful union with the Lord and our brothers and sisters”       (Pope Francis at the General Audience last Wednesday 19th November)
