This Sunday is Mission Sunday. In his first encyclical “Light of Faith”, Pope Francis invites us to reflect on the great gift of faith and how this adds so much to the quality and meaning of life. Sharing this message of faith to the world is our Christian duty, especially assisting the growth of our young mission churches. The collection taken up at Masses this weekend is for the Missions. For further information visit www.wmi.iw

November is traditionally dedicated as the Month of the Holy Souls when we pray in a special way for family members/ relatives/friends who are no longer with us. By a long-standing Irish custom, many people choose to abstain from alcohol for the month of November and offer this sacrificial act for the benefit of their deceased loved ones, and for all the Souls in Purgatory.

The sheets and envelopes for the Lists of the Dead are available at the back of the church.

We ask you to please fill them in and return them to the box at the back of the church before early November.

Mission Sunday                                                 May this Year of Faith increasingly strengthen our relationship with Christ the Lord, since only in him is there the certitude for looking to the future and the guarantee of an authentic and lasting love. This is my wish for World Mission Day this year.                                                                                                                Pope Francis for Mission Sunday
