A Word of Thanks for Christmas 2011

Firstly, we would like to thank all who assist us here in the church during the year–  our sacristans; the church cleaners; the altar society; the altar servers; our choirs -the parish choir, the folk group, the youth choir, the children’s choir; our cantors and our choir directors; our organists; our readers and their co-ordinators; our Eucharistic ministers and their co-ordinators; our liturgy committee; the children’s liturgy committee; the baptismal team; the Do this in Memory of Me Committee; the Legion of Mary and the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

And we also thank our groundsmen Bill and Willie who look after the church grounds and cemetery, Patsy and Maureen who work at the Parochial House and parish office.

We thank those who advise and assist us in the management and the administration of the parish, especially the Parish Finance Committee.

Thanks too for Padraic who for erecting the crib, for Dan who donated our Christmas tree and Josie, Rosemary and Lily who decorated the Church for Christmas.

At our Masses over the Christmas season we remember in a special way all our parishioners who lost a loved one in the past 12 months and we pray for our deceased parishioners.

We send our best wishes and congratulations to all the couples who were married here during the year; to the boys and girls who were confirmed in March ; to the children who received their First Confessions in March and their First Communion in May; and to all who were baptised during 2011.

We thank all involved in our four parish schools -the Principals and their teaching staff and all other staff members; the Boards of Management and Parents Associations; and we wish the very best to all the pupils.

A warm welcome to those who are home from abroad and we think too of all our parishioners who are away from home this Christmas and we remember them in our prayers on Christmas.

And finally to all of you, our parishioners, Brendan and I would like to thank you most sincerely for your kindness, and support to us during the year and on Brendan’s behalf and on my own behalf we wish you a happy and blessed Christmas and every good wish for the New Year.              Frs. Gerry & Brendan

May the peace of Christmas
touch your lives.
May Bethlehem’s
bright star of Hope
shine out for you.
And may the Christ child hold you always in His love.
