Opening of St. Paul’s National School

The Official Opening of St. Paul’s National School takes place on Friday next 21st October at 2.00pm. Bishop Michael Smith will celebrate Mass and officially open the school which now has over 500 pupils and is designed to accommodate over 600 pupils by 2013.
In 2005, St Paul’s began with 40 pupils in temporary accommodation. The new school is a 2 story, 24 classroom school with a designated autistic unit. The building also has 4 special need classrooms, a very large PE/Hall, library, offices and other ancillary accommodation.
There are three outdoor basketball courts and a car park providing 72 car spaces. The school was delivered as part of the Department of Education and Skills rapid development programme and it took just 26 weeks to build.
We express our immense gratitude to all who were involved in the planning, design and delivery of this school. We thank the officials at the Department, the design team, the construction company, the Principal Morag McGowan and her staff, the Board of Management, the Parents Association and our local public representatives.
We wish all in St. Paul’s every good wish for the opening and for the continued success of the school over the coming years.

Altar List of the Dead
Please take home a list of the dead sheet and return the completed list to the box at the back
of the Church before the 2nd November (The Feast of all Souls) All our dead are remembered
in our Masses during the month of November (the month of the Holy Souls) and on the
First Friday Masses throughout the year.

Next Sunday is Mission Sunday. In his message for Mission Sunday, Pope Benedict wrote, “missionary activity renews the Church, revitalizes faith and Christian identity, and offers fresh enthusiasm and new incentive. Faith is strengthened when it is given to others”
