Final Warning at Fairyhouse for Dog Walkers. Fairyhouse Racecourse welcomes walkers at the race track. However there is a health & safety issue with dog littering. The racecourse executives have repeatedly requested for dogs to be kept on leads and dog littering to be discarded by owners in the appropriate manner.  Unfortunately these rules are not being abided by. If there is no elimination in the amount of litter, dogs will have to be banned from Fairyhouse with immediate effect. We hope to continue to welcome you all to Fairyhouse, so please work together to make it enjoyable for everyone!

World Day for Migrants and refugees on January 16th    Pope Benedict XV1 in his message said “The world day of Migrants and refugees offers the whole church an opportunity to reflect on a theme linked  to the growing phenomenon of migration, to pray that hearts may open to Christian welcome and to the effort to increase in the world justice and charity, pillars on which to build an authentic and lasting peace. All belong to one family, migrants and local populations that welcome them, and all have the same right to enjoy the goods of the earth whose destination is universal, as the social doctrine of the Church teaches. It is here that solidarity and sharing is founded”

*********************************************************************************************** Worldwide there are some 43 million forcibly displaced persons whom over 15 million are refugees, almost 1 million are seeking asylum and 27 million are people displaced within the borders of their own country. In addition it is estimated that some 12 million people are stateless.   (UNHCR statistics)

***********************************************************************************************                              Prayer for the One Human Family                                                Good and gracious God, we thank you for the gift of families. We are grateful for all the joy and love that they bring into our lives and we ask that you provide special protection for all families, particularly those who face hardships as they move in search of a better life.

Show mercy on those who travel in danger, and lead them to a place of safety and peace. Comfort those who are alone and afraid because their families have been torn apart by violence and injustice.

As we reflect upon the difficult journey that the Holy Family faced as refugees in Egypt, help us to remember the suffering of the migrants families.

Through the intersession of Mary our Mother and St Joseph the Worker, her spouse, we pray that all migrants may be reunited with their loved ones and find the meaningful work they seek. Open our hearts so that we may provide hospitality for all who come in search of  refuge.

Give us the courage to welcome every stranger as Christ in our midst. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God  forever and ever. Amen     (US Bishops Conference)
