Next Sunday is Trinity Sunday. It is a blue offering day.

 

 

We welcome the boys and girls in Second Class in St. Paul’s National School who will receive their First Holy Communion next Saturday.

 

Revised Child Protection Policy and Procedures

The revised child protection policy and procedures for the Diocese of Meath have been published, following consultation with the HSE and the National Board for Safeguarding Children.  It describes what is expected at parish level to ensure that children are kept safe while taking part in Church activities and how volunteers can be supported. It also outlines the diocesan structures for responding to concerns and complaints.  The document is being distributed to parishes at the moment and it is available on the new diocesan child protection website www.meathsafeguarding.ie

 

 

                                                Cemetery Sunday

Cemetery Sunday is next Sunday. Evening prayer of the Dead will begin in the church at 5.00pm. This will be followed by rosary and blessing of the graves in the cemetery. A skip will be left this week in cemetery grounds to help with clean up.

Fore at Four – Pilgrimage to Fore Abbey: To mark the first decade of the third millennium and to focus on the Year of Priests in preparation for the International Eucharistic Congress in 2012, there will be a pilgrimage in Fore Abbey at 4.00pm on Sun 23rd  May. An invitation is extended to parishioners from all parishes in the diocese.

Alpha continue to meet on Monday evening at 8pm in the Parish Pastoral Centre. All are welcome.

A visit to John Lord’s Garden (Ratoath Garden Centre) On Monday 24th May meet at Ratoath Garden Centre, commencing at 7:00pm, with Practical demonstration on maintenance pruning, summer bedding and designing a mixed border. All visitors & new members are welcome.

Thanks to all who supported the Alzheimer Tea Day at Fox Lodge on Saturday, May 8th.

The Residents and Staff of  Ratoath Manor Nursing Home wish to thank all who supported their Alzheimer Tea Day which raised €950.00 which will be spent in the local area.

 

Many thanks to all who supported the Alzheimer Tea Morning at 41 The Old Mill (Aileen Wilson). €510 was contributed to this worthy cause.

A Royal Family Day Out The Tattersalls Festival, 27th – 30th May 2010, combines the Tattersalls International Horse Trials with a fabulous family day out. Top Olympic hopefuls such as royal heir, Zara Phillips, will compete in the equestrian event at the Ratoath venue (opposite Fairyhouse Racecourse). The Festival Village hosts a Good Food Ireland Food Market, lots of shopping and a farmers market.  Enjoy a picnic area by the spectacular water fence or lets the kids enjoy the pony rides, dog competitions, facing painting, archery and much more. Ratoath Pulse are the official charity for the Festival and will have a tent in the Festival Village. Children under 16 go free – with adult entry €10 on Saturday & €5 on Sunday. Ratoath Chamber of Commerce is organising a Golf Classic on June 10th and would welcome anybody who would like to enter a team (€300 per team of 4) or perhaps just come to the evening part of the event (€35) which includes a buffet bbq, drink & entertainment. Growing Together is sixteen acre private park located just past Leigh Valley Estate on the left, The idea is to bring families and community together by growing their own food and recreating at the same time.   Each family gets a 100 sq metres to grow their own food, the park will be beautifully landscaped, manicured lawns , fruit and birch trees,  play ground and more . We are having open days every weekend in May and June. We are asking the community to come along and we will give them personal guided tour of the park. More events planned for the summer.
