Congratulations to Cillian Malone (Mill Tree Park), Alexandria Boggans (Woodlands Hall) and Eoin Feldman (Elgarstown) who were baptised recently.

 

Please pray for Maura Reddington (Dublin) sister of Ita O’Sullivan (Lagore Big) who died during the week. May she rest in peace.

A meeting of the BoM of Ratoath Junior National School will be held on Tuesday 18th at 8.00pm

 

 

Rehearsals for the Children’s choir will begin this Wednesday evenings (19th Sept) at 7pm in the Church. Children from 2nd class and upwards are welcome to join. For practical reasons we have to limit the choir. The first 35 children to register will be accepted and others will be placed on a waiting list.

 

All Parents who have children for First Communion next year are invited to a meeting in the Church this Wednesday evening (19th September) at 8.00pm for the introduction of the “Do This In Memory of Me” programme.

 

Eucharistic Adoration takes place every Wednesday from 10.00am to 10.00pm

Rosary is recited after morning Mass on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Positive parenting : This autumns’ parenting programme in Dowdstown House, Dalgan Park, (phone 046 9021407) starts on Monday 24 September. There will be 5 speakers on 5 consecutive Monday nights, followed by a further 4 sessions which will involve interactive discussion.

 

 

Irelands Biggest Coffee Morning - Thursday Sept 20th in Ratoath G.A.A. Clubhouse from 9a.m. to 12noon. Cake sale and raffle on the morning. All cake donations welcome on the morning. Anyone willing to help can phone Gina on 8257590

A New Deputy Principal for Ratoath College.

 

Oonagh Prendergast has recently been appointed as the new Deputy Principal of Ratoath College.

Oonagh, a native of Carlow but a Lucan resident for the past 15 Years is a graduate of the NUI Maynooth. In recent years she has also completed a Higher Diploma in Education Management and holds a first class Masters in School Leadership.

Oonagh has over 20 years teaching experience and also considerable expertise in the development of new schools, having previously been a founding member of staff of two Greenfield schools. During her nine years in Killinarden Community School, Oonagh contributed greatly to the development of the school seeing it grow from an initial intake of 80 students to over 1000 students.

In 1993 Oonagh moved to Hartstown Community School which was at that time also in its second year of development. For the past 14 years Oonagh has taught Maths and German in Hartstown and for 11 of those years she has been Year Head to year groups of over 200 students.

She engaged in many extra curricular activities, coaching football and athletics, setting up the Chess club, editing the school magazine and regularly leading school tours both at home and to Germany. She also severed on the School’s Board of Management for three years.

While in Hartstown Oonagh developed excellent relationships with parents, students and staff and the wider community. She is noted for being an excellent teacher, enthusiastic and diligent about her subjects and for the strong sense of care she has for her students and her commitment to their overall welfare. Oonagh is delighted to be appointed as Deputy Principal of Ratoath College and is looking forward to being involved in and contributing to the continued development of the school.

A special meeting to explore the possibility of forming a Tennis Club for Ratoath will be held on Tuesday 18th Sept at 9.00pm in the Glascarn Studio of Ratoath Community Centre. Anyone interested in having a tennis club at the Community Grounds in Jamestown is welcome to attend.
