Parish Mission   ---- A week to go..

“Time with God, Time for Me”.

Our parish mission begins on 5th February.

For Monday 5th to Friday 16th February, the school mission team will be in the parish. They arrive this Sunday afternoon. On the first week they will be working in Ratoath Senior National School and

Rathbeggan National School and on the following week they will be in Ratoath Junior National School and St. Paul’s National School.

On week one, 8 members of the team will be in the schools and this will increase to 12 in the second week. The team are a highly trained group of people who are experienced in teaching and in mission work in schools. During the school mission, they will work with the children in a variety of ways through assemblies, classroom work, lunch time prayer, afternoon workshops, evening presentations and weekend Masses. They will lead the children in a variety of activities to explore the message of the gospel, using drama, dance, mime, song and prayer.

Parents will be invited to come and see what the children learned during the week in the presentation evenings that will be held in the church. For the next two weekends the children will be leading the liturgy at most of the Masses.

We thank all the schools for their support for the school mission team, who will be with them over the next two weeks.

The Visitation team will arrive in the parish on Saturday next

10th February. They will be here for 8 to 9 days. We thank all who have volunteered to accompany a member of the visiting team to the homes of the parish. But we need more. Because of the size of the parish, we are looking for as many parishioners as possible who will be willing to accompany a member of the visiting team on their visits. Can you spare any time on the afternoons or evenings of any day from 11th to 18th February. Please let Fr. Patrick or Fr. Gerry know in the next week if you can help us.

We express our extreme gratitude to our parishioners who have generously offered B&B for the school mission team and the mission visitation team.

On week three, the preached mission will begin.

It will be from Tuesday 20th February to Sunday 25th February.

More about that aspect of the mission next week……
